Jan Füllemann

Would you like people to find your offer when they search for it? I work in two stages: essential SEO is part of every website I build. Extra SEO goes further: research, targeting your audiences, new content and, if you wish, regular reports.

I work the way I do on my own websites every day: with data from Google Search Console, traceable changes and an honest evaluation. That needs no tracking cookies and no analytics tool on your website.

Personal, friendly, reliable: ocPhone1

Essential SEO is part of every website I build. I implement extra SEO directly on your website if I built it or look after it. For websites looked after by someone else, I provide research, evaluation and concrete recommendations; the site operator or their provider implements them.

Key points at a glance

Essential SEO: included with every new website I build, as part of the website’s fixed price.
Extra SEO: Search Console setup, research, audience targeting, adapting and adding content, local visibility and evaluation.
Reports: optional, for example monthly, as an accessible PDF by email.
Price: extra SEO and reports by arrangement, depending on scope and frequency.
Measurement: with Google Search Console, without tracking on your website.

Nobody can honestly promise a ranking. Google itself says: “No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google” (Google Search Central). So I do not promise positions, but clean work, traceable changes and honest figures.

What your customers expect today

People looking for a practice, a local trade or a club usually search nearby and with a specific question. For local results, Google names three main factors: relevance, distance and prominence (Google Business Profile Help). A website that clearly says what you offer and where, together with a complete business profile, supports all three.

Reviews and new ways of searching matter too: in BrightLocal’s Local Consumer Review Survey 2026, 97% of respondents said they read reviews of local businesses, and 45% use ChatGPT or other AI tools for recommendations.

For AI features in Google Search, Google says there are no additional requirements and no special optimisations needed to appear in AI Overviews (Google Search Central). What counts is helpful, reliable content, a technically sound website and up-to-date information. That is the core of my work.

Two stages: essential SEO and extra SEO

Essential SEO makes sure search engines and AI systems can read your website technically and understand it correctly. It is included with every website I build.

Extra SEO aligns your website with the search terms and questions of your audiences and follows the results over weeks and months.

Here is exactly what belongs to each stage.

Essential SEO: included with every website

Every website I build gets a clean foundation for search engines and AI systems. This is not an add-on package but part of my work, included in the fixed price of your website.

Essential SEO: what I do in detail

Page titles and descriptions

Every page gets its own clear title and a meta description that accurately summarises its content. Where the location matters, it is included, as Google recommends in its SEO Starter Guide.

Clear structure

One main heading per page, logically structured subheadings, readable addresses and understandable navigation. Internal links connect pages that belong together.

Structured data

I add details about your business, contact person, address, services and pages as structured data based on schema.org, and frequently asked questions on suitable pages. The data always matches the visible text.

Technical foundation

Sitemap, robots.txt and a clear main address for each page, plus language mapping for bilingual websites. Also fast loading with self-hosted fonts and suitable image sizes, good display on smartphones and an encrypted connection.

Readable for AI systems and social media

An llms.txt file with a short description and your most important pages, an accessible structure with alternative texts, and preview information so that a shared link looks tidy on social networks.

Ready for Search Console

Your sitemap and robots.txt are in place at publication, and I give you the address of your sitemap. You create your own Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools accounts and add the sitemap there yourself, so the account is yours from day one.

What is not included

To avoid misunderstandings: setting up Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools, keyword research, competitor comparison, new texts or guide pages, recommendations for your Google Business Profile, ongoing evaluation and reports are not part of essential SEO. I offer all of these as extra SEO.

Extra SEO: targeted at your audiences

Your website should not only be technically sound but also appear for the searches that bring you enquiries. I look at who should find you, how these people search and what they want to know, and align your content accordingly.

For existing websites: extra SEO is also possible for a website that is already published. If I look after the website, I implement the changes myself. For websites looked after by someone else, you receive research, evaluation and concrete recommendations that the operator can implement.

Extra SEO: what I do, step by step

Audiences and goals

We clarify who should find you, from which town or region, with which question, and which enquiries should result. For bilingual websites, I look at German and English-speaking audiences separately.

Keyword and question research

I research which terms and questions your audiences actually use, with and without a location, and who currently ranks at the top for them. As soon as Search Console data is available, I compare the research with it.

Adapting and adding content

I align existing pages with the most important search terms, sharpen titles and descriptions, answer frequent questions and plan new service, location or guide pages. Implementation takes place directly on your website, in German and English if you wish.

Visible locally and in AI answers

You receive recommendations for your Google Business Profile and consistent details for name, address and phone number. I check how AI assistants answer typical questions from your audience and whether your website is mentioned.

Evaluating and refining

If you wish, I set up Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools in your name and submit the sitemap. After a few weeks, I evaluate the Search Console data: impressions, clicks and average position. I specifically improve pages that are shown often but rarely clicked, and I check that all important pages are indexed.

What is not included

To avoid misunderstandings: guaranteed rankings, bought links, bought or self-written reviews and other methods that violate Google’s guidelines are not part of it. Nor are paid ads, managing social media channels or legal advice, for example on advertising claims.

Why an SEO tool alone is not enough

SEO tools award points and traffic-light colours. That is a good start, but a tool knows neither your customers nor your offer. Whether a page reaches the right people only becomes clear from the real searches in Search Console. That is why I always combine tools with research, experience and talking to you.

A real example: my own page on web design in Peine

I show my approach through the most honest example I have: my own website. The figures come from 30-day Google Search Console evaluations that are refreshed daily.

Starting point

For the German search term “webdesign peine”, my page Webdesign in Peine appeared in the 30 days up to 26 September 2026 with 74 impressions at an average position of 2.69, but 0 clicks. On 3 October 2026 it had 65 impressions at position 3.91, still without a click. For “webdesign agentur peine” the page had 32 impressions, position 2.75 and 0 clicks. I also check daily whether AI assistants mention my website for the question “Who offers web design in Peine?”: on all eight days checked, they did not.

What I changed

On 3 October 2026 I rewrote the meta description so that it starts with “Webdesign in Peine”, adjusted the first subheading and made the answer to “Who offers web design in Peine?” start directly with my name. A new question asks whether I am a web design agency in Peine. Everything is visible on the page and matches the structured data.

What happens next

Whether clicks and position improve will only show over the coming weeks. Google decides for itself whether to use the new description, and AI answers change constantly. This is exactly how I work for you too: make targeted changes, measure and evaluate honestly, instead of promising success in advance.

Who this is for

Freelancers and local service providers

Trades, consulting, coaching or photography: your customers search for your service and your location. Clear service pages, a well-maintained business profile and answers to typical questions make the difference.

Practices and health professions

Veterinary, physiotherapy or therapy practices: people search for services, location, opening hours and often emergencies. I make sure this information is easy to find and consistent everywhere. Advertising in the health sector is subject to special rules; I do not provide the legal review.

Clubs and non-profit projects

You are looking for new members or offer courses and events. Anyone searching for a club and a town should find you, with up-to-date dates and clear ways to get in touch.

Small businesses with a wider reach

Travel, specialist services or offers for international customers: here, guide content, well-answered questions and, if needed, a second language help you get found beyond your region. Existing clients can add extra SEO and reports at any time.

What they all share: you do not want to become an SEO expert, you want your website to be found and to bring enquiries. I explain everything clearly and without jargon.

How we work together

  1. You write to me. Your website address, your offer and who should find you are enough to start.
  2. Free initial consultation. I look at your website and its visibility and tell you where I see opportunities and whether extra SEO is worthwhile for you.
  3. Quote by arrangement. Scope, services, limits and, if you wish, the report frequency are set out in writing.
  4. Access to Search Console. The account stays yours; if you wish, I set it up for you. For evaluation, read access is enough, and you can revoke it at any time.
  5. Research and implementation. Research audiences, search terms and questions, then adapt and add content on your website.
  6. Evaluation. After a few weeks, I check what the changes achieved and refine them.
  7. Optional: regular reports. You receive a clear summary of the development at an agreed frequency.

Optional regular reports

  1. Frequency by arrangement: for example monthly or weekly, as an accessible PDF by email.
  2. The key figures: impressions, clicks, click-through rate and average position, each explained in plain language.
  3. Comparison periods: for example the previous month, three, six or twelve months, so that trends become visible.
  4. Movements: search terms and pages that have risen or fallen.
  5. Opportunities: search terms for which your website is shown often but rarely clicked.
  6. Optional AI check: whether your website is mentioned in AI answers to typical questions. This is a snapshot, because AI answers change constantly.
  7. Concrete recommendations: the next sensible steps, with no obligation to implement them.
  8. No tracking: the reports are based on Google Search Console. Your website needs no cookies and no analytics tool for them.
  9. Flexible: we adjust frequency and scope by arrangement.

Why you can trust me with this

I apply what I offer you to myself first: I evaluate my own website daily with Search Console, check its visibility in AI answers and refine pages based on this data. I have been building websites for more than 25 years, accessible to WCAG 2.2 AA, with clean structured data and without tracking. And I will tell you honestly if an effort is not worthwhile for you.

Frequently asked questions about SEO

What is the difference between essential SEO and extra SEO?

Essential SEO is included with every website I build: page titles and descriptions, clear structure, structured data, a sound technical foundation and llms.txt. Extra SEO is a separate service: research, audience targeting, new or adapted content, local visibility, evaluation and, if you wish, regular reports.

How much does SEO cost with you?

Essential SEO is included in the fixed price of every website I build. I offer extra SEO and reports by arrangement, because the effort depends heavily on scope: the number of pages and languages, competition, new content and report frequency. In the free initial consultation, I assess what makes sense for you.

Do you guarantee a place on the first page of Google?

No. Only Google decides the order of search results, and Google itself states that no one can guarantee a first place. I promise you clean work, traceable changes and honest figures.

How long does it take before something happens?

It varies. According to Google, changes can take effect within a few hours or only after several months; Google recommends waiting a few weeks before assessing the effect. New pages often take longer than changes to existing pages.

Will I then be mentioned in ChatGPT, Perplexity or Google’s AI Overviews?

I cannot promise that. According to Google, there are no additional requirements and no special optimisations for AI Overviews in Google Search; the same basics apply as for regular search. Other AI assistants use their own sources. I make sure your content is clear and well supported and, if you wish, check whether your website is mentioned.

Do I need a Google Business Profile?

If you have local customers, it is highly recommended. For local results, Google considers relevance, distance and prominence, and complete details in the profile help. The profile belongs to you; I give you recommendations on what to include and how it fits your website. According to Google, there is no way to request or pay for a better local ranking.

Do you also take care of reviews?

I show you how to ask satisfied customers for a review in a simple way and how to respond well to reviews. I do not buy or write reviews; fake reviews violate Google’s policies.

Do I need Google Analytics or cookies for this?

No. I work with Google Search Console. It shows how your website appears in Google Search and needs neither cookies nor tracking on your website. I do not need any personal data about your visitors for this.

Who has access to my Search Console?

You do. The account is in your name. For evaluations and reports, read access is enough for me, which is also what Google recommends to start with. You can revoke this access yourself at any time.

Does this also work for websites built by someone else?

Partly. Research, evaluation, reports and concrete recommendations are possible for any website, whatever the system. I implement changes on websites I built or look after; for WordPress, Wix or other systems, the operator or their provider implements the recommendations.

Can I maintain my texts myself afterwards?

Yes. You receive a short guide on what to look out for in new texts: page title, description, headings and images. That way the foundation stays in place, even when you add content yourself.

Where are the limits of SEO?

SEO improves the conditions but does not decide on its own. Google keeps changing how it evaluates pages, competitors also work on their sites, and for local searches the distance to the person searching plays a role that nobody can influence. In smaller towns, some services are searched for only rarely. I have no direct influence on AI answers. And SEO does not replace a good offer: what people find after the click decides whether they get in touch.

Do I have to book the regular reports?

No, the reports are optional. You can commission extra SEO without reports or add them later. We agree on frequency and scope by arrangement.
